New langages asked!

Si far the best app Ive tried for handwriting recognition! But please, could we have other languages available, like French for instance? It would be very long to add an entire dictionary by myself... :-)

This app is really awesome!

I love being able to mix taking hand written notes with typing, and I am amazed at how good the character recognition is considering my very messy hand writing! Pretty cool word prediction too! Definitely worth the price of admission!

Great App

This is a really well thought out App for writing notes and converting them to text. It is simple and intuitive and I was surprised at how well it recognized my writing. It was also easy to make corrections if it got it wrong. Ive used the app on my iPad and iPhone 5. I usually use a Bluetooth stylus but it also works with my finger even on the iPhone. Good job!

Please update for phone 5 screen

This App does not fit to screen phone 5 yet.

Good but need new character set

Works fast and good enough in English. Can you add Turkish dictionary? Also input of Turkish characters should be improved.

Not yet

This app works fine, BUT it is just an iPhone app. On an iPad the resolution is terrible like all apps not built for the larger screen. If you have an iPad dont get this until they write a high resolution version

Simple and great experience.

Easy to start using this 7notes. I can take a memo quickly and edit like Word in natural operation. It is the best application for taking memo during commuting. I am really waiting for HD version which seems become available soon !!

Almost perfect

As is, this app is awesome and I will be using it frequently. There are only a couple small flaws with it I see so far, and both have to do with the ability to go back and edit something later. Lets say I am using the handwriting to text conversion; and Im writing pretty fast. The conversion software does a pretty good job keeping up; but here and there it misses a couple letters. For instance I want to write "fast" and it comes up as "fat". No big deal, Ill just go back in and add the "s". Except that its not as easy as just putting your cursor where you want it, adding the "s" and moving the cursor again. I had to move the cursor, add the "s", add a space, then delete that space before it let me continue. Not a deal breaker, but not intuitive. That said, it is still a worthwhile app, and very easy to change inputs on the fly. It would be perfect if I could take notes in my handwriting at my own speed and then go back and convert them to text at a later time. **As I continue to play with this app, I keep coming back and editting my review. It just keeps getting better and better. I have found the way I can change my handwriting into text after the fact! I can even change text into handwriting. Again, figuring out how to do this is not terribly intuitive, but the functionality is there. Maybe add an additional export option that will export the whole document (handwritten/full text/ combination of both) to text vs just the portions that are not handwritten. That would allow you to keep the original handwrtten notes as well. Just a thought. In summary though, a great app and worth the price.

Exactly

What I was looking for. Great for note-taking. I wish it had a list hierarchy so I can take better notes. Theres plenty of empty space above the keyboard.

Best handwriting recognition app!!

Ive been searching for an app that would convert my printing to text. This does a great job! Recognition of printed text is almost perfect, especially after I adjusted the distance that separates words. Im amazed at how well it handles cursive. Using a stylus helps cursive recognition. Can you add a number recognition mode? I have to use the keyboard for numbers. How about an option to copy to clipboard on exit? Most of the time I want to use the text somewhere else, like in this review. Great job!!

Best so far....

Perhaps there are more of these handwriting recognition apps available but I only found this one and "WritePad". I bought them both for iPhone to try out first and found that the 7notes had much better handwriting recognition. To many errors in WritePad for me to use it. Based on that I just bought the iPad version and have high hopes for it as well. I give it a 4 stars and will adjust up or down as I play with it some more. The one thing that I DO like on the other app is the ability to set up short cuts for common words you use. I would use this feature a lot if 7notes had this. I also would love to hit "return" without having click the verification button. Thats not what they call it but I know the developers will know what Im talking about. I also which there was a way to do a "return" from the writing window like WritePad has. Ill post more pros and cons later.

Awful, disappointing.

I just downloaded this app because it was compared to the Newton. I loved my Newtons & ran my office with them for three years. So far, i can say that this is not a fraction as good or as powerful as a Newton was. Non-intuitive, & impossible to write even one long word on an iPhone. Might be better on an iPad...but cant use it as is. This is one I would ask for a refund.

Not intuitive

The handwriting recognition is okay, but will sometimes go from recommending the correct word to combining two words into nonsense despite recognizing the space in between. The worst part is that you cannot press the return key most of the time, and when you reach the end of the line, you have to exit the handwriting mode, hit return, and then reenter the hand writing mode. The programmers obviously never tried to use their own app...

Great app

I bought this app For my kindle Fire (sorry. apple), and liked it so much that I thought I would try it on the Iphone. I bought it, and, much to my surprise, it works just as well. my only quibble is that in landscape mode, I wish the stroke, convert and keyboard menu options were on the main screen. I wrote this in 7note, converted it with 100% accuracy, copied and pasted it Into this review. Highly recommended!

Disappointing to say the least

This app is a stand alone app without much integration into anything else. The reason I bought it was for the Evernote integration which turns out to be simply the ability to send a note to it. It does not run within Evernote as expected. Also the resolution is low with very minimal space. It is not like a real notepad at all and has a long way to go for the cost.

Works

I paid the money $ for the premium version. The app works -best handwriting to type font conversion app Ive found to date (but the others all are terrible) The app helpsite is zero help as far as FAQs and this prob. to post a new problem u must login with your facebook, google or some other account info. Spam-bait seems like--no thanks. the premium version does not include the evernote integration - thats an extra in-app purchase.

Super app!

I have this app for both my ipad and iphone, and it is great. Anyone that gives it a negative review just doesnt know what they are doing. It does have a bit of a learning curve, but the recognition is scary accurate, and I have no trouble at all using it to write notes in classes and meetings. Editing is easy one you get used to it. Carriage returns are easy. Just hit the space bar to pop you out of recognition mode, then hit the carriage return as many times as you want. Start writing again and you are right back in recognition mode. I used to use my pocket pc for everything and I really missed the ability to take handwritten notes and have them converted to text on the fly. This app does it all.

Not that useful for me

Functionally, it works fine - but my handwriting is terrible and its actually much faster for me to just thumb-type on the iPhone. I think with a stylus, and probably on the iPad, this would be a much more useful app. To be honest - the fastest "handwriting recognition" system ever created was the now forgotten "Graffiti" system on Palm devices circa turn of the century". I got fast enough with Graffiti to actually take notes in a meeting - it worked great precisely because it forced some conformity in the input and didnt waste RAM and CPU cycles trying to "recognize" your handwriting. For those too young (or old) to remember, Graffiti forced you to "print" in a sort of block-letter shorthand. Took very little effort to learn and was very effective. It also used very little screen real estate because you wrote" every character in the same small box. It was one of those great technologies that just didnt make the transition into the 21st century. But I digress. I mostly dropped the 6 bucks ($5 for the app, and another buck for the Evernote add-in) because Im an Evernote freak and wanted to make sure I wasnt missing an opportunity to use Evernote for yet one more thing it wasnt intended to be used for ;-)

No support to fix a major bug!

This app does a fairly good job recognizing my handwriting but I had to buy the premium version to see that. But its totally USELESS to me. When I invoke the keyboard while in "stroke" mode, my premium version reverts to to the free version which doesnt do handwriting recognition. The only way I can temporarily fix the problem is to reinstall 7notes prem. But when I do that all my previous notes are wiped out! This is a MAJOR bug! I tried reporting it to their tech support but they have no email address for that. Instead I had to go to their support site using a link in the help. The help I was taken to was a different product and you have to setup an account before you can get any help. If I were you, dont even consider getting this app, instead pay your $4.99 on something much better!

Great app

Can we please get an update for the 4 inch retina display of the new iPhone5?
